Your privacy matters. Kepler is designed to collect as little data as possible. By default, your app usage stays on your device.

2. Data we collect
Early access requests
When you request early access by email or a future waitlist form, we collect your email address. We use it solely to notify you when access is available. We do not sell it.
App usage
Kepler does not send your search queries, launch history, plugin usage, or app activity to our servers. This data stays on your device.
Optional update telemetry
If you opt in to update telemetry, Kepler sends anonymous system profile information together with update checks through the Sparkle updater. This helps us understand which macOS versions and Mac hardware we should support.
This may include: preferred language, number of CPU cores, Mac model, RAM size, app name, CPU type and subtype, whether the CPU is 64-bit, macOS version, and app version.
We do not use this data to identify you, and we do not receive your search queries, launch history, or local app activity through update telemetry.
Website
This website may collect standard server logs, such as IP address, browser, referrer, date, and time of access, for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are not used for profiling.
3. Cookies
This website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We may use a session cookie if required for form functionality.
4. Legal basis
Processing of your email address for waitlist purposes is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
Optional update telemetry is processed based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can disable telemetry at any time in Kepler's settings.
Server logs are processed based on our legitimate interest in operating and securing this website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

6. Data retention
Early access email addresses are deleted within 30 days of the public launch or upon request. Server logs are deleted after 30 days.
Optional update telemetry is kept only for as long as necessary to understand update adoption, platform support, and app compatibility.

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
